Not illustrated. 1858 Excerpt: ...the text of the " Uranometria Nova Oxoniensis " the magnitudes of the stars in this zone have been determined for the most part from twenty extinctions on one night In the present supplement, the results have been obtained from measures made on at least five nights, so that the concluded magnitudes now depend on, in general, seventy extinctions. I think, therefore, that these magnitudes are worthy of very considerable confidence. In the supplementary table here presented, the fourth column contains the magnitude already given in the "Uranometria Nova Oxoniensis," the second is the concluded magnitude derived from all the extinctions of the several nights of observation. It is, I think, highly satisfactory to find that no important corrections are to be made to the original determinations.
